| At the request of the Police Department, Sheriff's
Office or Child Protective Services, the Harmony Home Forensic Interviewer conducts a
legally acceptable interview of a child that has disclosed sexual or severe physical abuse
and/or witnessed a similar crime. These interviews take place at Harmony Home in a safe,
non-threatening environment where children feel at ease. These interviews are videotaped
and can be used by investigating officials to eliminate the need for the child to repeat
their story over and over again.
Our Forensic Interviewers, are professionally trained to use
established protocol to conduct forensic interviews of children regarding possible sexual
abuse, emotional abuse/neglect and severe physical abuse, as well as child witnesses to
violent crime. They keep up to date with all of the new research and developments in forensic interviewing
of child sexual abuse including training for and with other children advocacy centers and
organizations. Spanish speaking interviews are also available.
Harmony Home CAC has two interview rooms for the
different needs of various aged children.
